An elevation certificate verifies the elevation data of a structure on a given property relative to ground level. In most cases, this must be issued by a professional surveyor or engineer. Just because your house is built on a concrete slab does not mean that an elevation certificate will not affect your flood insurance rates. An elevation certificate tells the underwriters how far above the base flood elevation the structure is, which can be different than the ground level of the structure. |
